New roof construction
A new roof is a strip-and-tile, or a new structure over an extension. Tradex builds both kinds of job from the Isleham base. The covering, the battens and the details at the chimney and the eaves are decided on the building, not from a menu on this page.
When a new roof is the job
People arrive here after a repair that would only hold a small area, or because an extension needs a roof framed from scratch. Published reviews mention a complete roof replacement and a new tiled roof on a bungalow. Those are the reviewers' words about their own houses.
The gallery shows timber roof joists and an extension frame on scaffolding beside a brick house. That photograph is the frame during the work. It is not a finished tiled roof, and it is not a specification.
Flat roofs are a different page
Felt and membrane roofs on single-storey additions are covered under flat roof replacement. Gutters are often renewed while the scaffolding is up: see guttering and soffits.
Visits from the Isleham base cover Ely, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.
What to tell Jamie
He will still need to see the roof. These details make the first call useful.
- House, bungalow, or extension
- Rough age of the present covering, if you know it
- Whether anyone sleeps under that slope
- Access: driveway, terrace, conservatory, overhead cables
- The town: Ely, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, or somewhere else nearby
Questions people ask
Do you publish a price for a new roof?
The cost follows the size, the covering, the scaffolding and the state of the timber. Ask Jamie for a quotation after a visit, or send the quotation form.
Can you roof an extension?
Extension roof structures are part of this work. Bring the drawings if you have them, and say whether the roof is pitched or flat. Flat roofs are quoted from the flat roof page.
