Flat roof replacement

Flat roofs fail quietly: a bubble in the covering, a drip over a door head, or boards that have gone soft underfoot. Replacement means taking that covering off, checking the deck, and laying a new one. Jamie will say what the deck needs once he is standing on it.

What the photographs show

The gallery includes an OSB flat-roof deck with a framed opening, and a single-storey brick extension with a new grey flat roof while the scaffolding is still up. Those are job photographs. They are not a promise of one product name.

A published review from Gemma Trussler describes a flat roof Tradex carried out. The review is on the homepage.

Pitched roofs and gutters

A house with both a flat extension and a tiled main roof may need roof repairs or a new roof as well. Outlets and gutters have to leave the flat roof properly: see guttering and soffits.

Visits from the Isleham base cover Ely, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

What to tell Jamie

Useful points before a visit:

  • Garage, extension, dormer, or bay
  • Whether water is inside, or you are replacing because the covering looks tired
  • Rough size, or a phone photo from a window
  • Anything sitting on the roof: soil pipes, roof lights, air-conditioning boxes

Questions people ask

Is a flat roof always replaced rather than patched?

A small split can be a repair. A deck that has softened, or a covering that has failed across the area, is usually a replacement. Jamie will say which after he has seen it.

Which towns do you cover for flat roofs?

Ely, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds, from Isleham. If you are just outside those towns, say so when you call.
